A little bit about me
My name is Sharyn Chalton. I call myself a ‘creative artworker’ now, but I used to be known as a ‘typesetter’. My skills have evolved, along with changes in the industry, from digital typesetting on a ‘turnkey’ system through to artwork production for digital and print publication on Apple Mac. With many years experience in advertising and design agencies as well as printing and prepress companies, I have worked on all types of artwork including corporate, retail, point-of-sale, packaging, press ads and large format/outdoor advertising.
No, I’m not a designer
I put myself at the technical rather than creative end of the artwork scale, so I prefer to leave branding and identity design to more creative types; however with an already established brand I can produce great looking collateral, that is technically accurate and functional.
This technical leaning also means I know how to get the most out of production software, simplifying the production of multi-page projects like annual reports and retail catalogues. And it underpins my affinity for working with dielines and cardboard construction.
